Hi everyone,

I'll start off with a bit of history about myself since it's my first
message on povray.org. I've been reading this newsgroup on and off for a
while now, but lately, it's become more regularly. Although this is my
first posted image, I was introduced to raytracing about 7 years ago when I
wrote a raytracer for my graphics course at University. So this is not my
first render.

Now about the image. I got inspired by all the sunshine media images and
decided to try one underwater. I'm still not happy with it yet because when
I get the sunbeams, the rest of my colours seem to washout. Also, there's
nothing breaking up the beams which makes them too constant.
The big picture is my first try at it, and the smaller one has sunbeams in
them (although they might not be very visible at that size). You'll notice
the difference in the colour of the sand and ball. I've been trying to find
the happy middle, but I haven't succeeded yet.

Fortunately, the fish look good from far, because if you saw them up close,
you'd laugh at how simple they are. The metallic sphere is just there for
looks and my attempt at a rust texture. I guess it fell off a boat.

So far, it's still kind of bare. I have some ideas of things to add when I
get the chance.

Any comments or suggestions?

Richard
